As such, we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that any collected personal information is securely stored and used solely to assist us in securing contract, temporary or permanent employment for you. We are members of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association (RCSA) and the Information and Technology Contract and Recruitment Association (ITCRA). Personal information held by us is done so in accordance with the revised Privacy Act of 2001.
Collection of Personal and Sensitive Information
Information collected by Trilogy Resources generally relates to your work experience, your work performance, qualifications and other information that will assist us in your successful placement. This information will not be passed on without your prior consent. Personal information provided by referees or our clients will also be treated in this manner.
If you are a contractor, Trilogy may hold details such as bank account numbers, ABN numbers and superannuation details. These details are stored securely and privately in the Trilogy offices.
The type of personal information we collect and hold
The personal information we collect is related to the practise of recruitment including:
- the personal information of candidates and contractors collected in the course of the recruitment and management process including information collected and recorded from the practise of reference checking.
- any personal information that is normally required to be transferred between an employee and an employer in the context of an employment relationship, including but not limited to tax file number, banking details and information that might be relevant to a workers compensation claim.
We only collect sensitive information when it is necessary for a client assignment. In such cases, we only do so with the consent of a candidate or contractor, if required by law or if necessary for a legal or equitable claim.

Trilogy Resources collects personal information for the purpose of securing contract, temporary or permanent employment for you.
How we collect personal information
Most of the information Trilogy collects about you is attained when you register with us. During the course of our association we will from time to time collect other information pertaining to your possible or actual employment via:
- reference checks
- performance appraisals
- competency or medical tests
- feedback during or at the end of your employment
- colleagues, former employers, professional associations
- legal requirements eg, insurance claims
- additional Information you provide
We will not collect sensitive information about you, such as information relating to your health, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs and membership of unions if it is not included in your resume.
How we hold personal information
Trilogy Resources holds your personal information in a combination of computer storage facilities and paper-based files and other records.

How we use and disclose personal information
Obtaining your consent to disclose
Trilogy Resources will at all times ask your consent for disclosure or use of your personal information for our primary purpose. We may do so in writing, verbally or on our website. If you have indicated to us in writing, email or verbally that you wish to be considered for positions generally or within certain parameters, your consent will be taken as given.
We may use or disclose personal information without consent where:
- it is related to the purpose of collecting information in accord with this Privacy Policy
- we reasonably believe it is necessary to assist an enforcement body and the information is a necessary part of our investigation or reporting of the matter
- we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent a threat to life, health or safety
- we are authorised or required by law to do so
- we have contracted an external organisation to provide support services and that organisation has agreed to conform to our privacy standards
Disclosing your personal information to others
Trilogy Resources does not disclose your personal information to others, except where it is:
- to a company related to us
- to organisations which provide services to us
- with the consent of you or such consent may be presumed (as defined above)
- necessary to do so in order to advance the interests of you with a client
- required by law
If you do not give us the information we seek
If you do not give us the information we seek then we may be limited in our ability to source suitable opportunities and subsequent work for you.
How to obtain access and make corrections to personal information
You may gain access to the personal information we hold about you by making application for access to privacy@trilogy.com.au. You may not request personal information for any individual apart from yourself including family members.
If the granting of access results in the identification of information that is not accurate, complete or up-to-date, we will make corrections to the information.
Trilogy Resources will respond to the request as quickly as possible.
The Privacy Amendment [Private Sector] Act 2001 provides that a company may require the applicant to meet the reasonable costs of providing this access. Our company may pass this cost on if it is deemed reasonable to do so.
